If so, I know exactly how you feel.
My name is Jim Herrick, Program Director of 0.2 Speed, and at the start of my coaching career things were definitely not all smooth sailing.
During my first year as strength coach of a local high school football team, we produced a less-than-flattering 2-9 record.
That same year the school named me head coach of the boys track team, and we proceeded to go winless that spring. One of our losses was actually by a score of 117-3 (that is not a typo!), with the 3 points only coming from the fact we had a future NFL offensive linemen throwing the shot put for us.
Failure defined that first year, but it led to a burning desire to not let any kid that was willing to put in the work be embarrassed like that in the future.
That launched a tireless 25-year journey to uncover the best training methods a coach could possibly provide their athletes.
How to get stronger.
How to get faster.
How to get hurt less often.
How to be more confident in yourself and your chances of being a success.
As you can imagine, this led to an awful lot of different ideas. Some were useful, many others weren’t.
As time passed, some popular ideas were removed from our training if they didn’t show results. Sometimes this went against the grain of conventional wisdom, but we always let the results speak for themselves.
It also helped to uncover some hidden gems, underused approaches to training that were ‘well kept secrets’ in some parts of the sports world because they were giving a handful of people a competitive edge.
Today, after a lot of lessons learned in those 25 years, the end product is a unique program that only uses proven training methods.
We don’t do what is popular. Some of our methods might not be what you’d expect.
But they work.
This is what I am excited to share with you and your team today.
Introducing 0.2 Speed & Athletic Development Team Clinics
The world we live in now, with more practices and longer seasons for kids, proves that coaches truly want to give their kids everything they can.
Because as a coach, you never have enough time to do all the things you need to.
You genuinely care about the success of your players.
But you can’t do it all alone.
Looking at the coaching staff of any professional organization in your sport, you’ll find a range of specialists in almost every area of athletic development.
Yet most youth coaches have to be everything, an impossible standard that also isn’t giving your kids the best opportunity to reach their true potential.
So why not reach out and strengthen your ‘staff’?
Through one-day, intensive training sessions we’ll provide your kids with a great experience that is packed with useful information you can also use later on.
But we take these one step further.
We have a set policy that for each team clinic we run, half the money we collect for the event goes right back to you. After all, coaches and organizations do all the work in setting these team sessions up, and you should be rewarded for that effort.
You may buy equipment. You may buy uniforms. You can do whatever you need with it, it is our way of saying thank you for the support.
We are NOT sports coaches. We do not teach the game, that is your job and one you assuredly do very well.
We are simply here to assist you.
If you are interested in exploring how this might benefit your team, let’s start by scheduling a 15 minute complimentary coaching call.
We can talk about anything you want – warm up strategies, conditioning, speed development, injury prevention, you name it.
It’d be an honor to share some of this information to help your kids succeed.
Simply fill out the contact information below and we’ll connect soon!
